Clark invited to attend Indo-American Frontiers of Engineering Symposium
10/19/2009
EVS's Corrie Clark has been invited by the National Academy of Engineers (NAE) to attend the 2010 Indo-American Frontiers of Engineering Symposium (IAFOE), which will be held March 10-13, 2010, at the Jaypee Palace Hotel and Convention Centre in Agra, India. This activity is sponsored by the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) and organized jointly by NAE and the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India.
Since 1995, NAE has held an annual U.S. Frontiers of Engineering (FOE) symposium that brings together 100 outstanding engineers (ages 30-45) from U.S. companies, universities, and government labs to discuss leading-edge research and technical work across a range of engineering fields. Convening engineers from disparate fields and challenging them to think about developments and problems at the frontiers of areas different from their own will, the organizers believe, lead to a variety of desirable results. These include collaborative work, the transfer of new techniques and approaches across fields, and establishment of contacts among the next generation of leaders in engineering. Since the inception of the U.S. Frontiers program, NAE added bilateral programs with Germany, Japan, India, and China. The 2010 Indo-American FOE is the third such biennial meeting. The symposium will be attended by 70 engineers under the age of 45 from Indian and U.S. industry and universities, as well as from government labs.
