The ARM Climate Research Facility, a Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science user facility, provides data from strategically located climate observatories around the world. The facilities are designed to improve the understanding and representation of clouds and aerosols and their interactions with Earth's surface in climate and Earth system models.
EVS operates two observatories:
- The Southern Great Plains Site in Oklahoma, and
- The ARM Mobile Facility (AMF2), a second-generation facility developed for deployment in marine and other challenging environments.
The DOE Office of Science established its national scientific user facilities to provide researchers with the most advanced tools of modern science for studying the nanoworld, the environment, and the atmosphere.
