Ecological and Geographical Sciences Section
The Ecological and Geographical Sciences Section within the Environmental Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory performs applied studies and technical analyses to assist agencies in making informed decisions concerning the effects of their actions on ecological and cultural resources. The spatial context of resources is a primary focus of this work and the Section maintains state-of-the-art capabilities in spatial modeling and geographical information systems (GIS).
Previous and current projects address topical areas in watershed ecology, ecological risk assessment, cultural resource management, wetlands delineation and assessment, biodiversity, soil ecology, and natural resource management planning.
